ZONSKY's Electrical Insulation Test Apparatus is designed to assess the electrical insulation properties of fire extinguisher components. It ensures safety during handling and operation near electrical sources. The equipment applies high voltage to test insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and leakage current, confirming that the materials and structure of the fire extinguisher prevent electrical conductivity.
Product applications: This equipment is suitable for testing the insulation performance of water-based fire extinguishers while spraying. To perform the test, the operator hangs a metal plate of φ120 (±0.025) mm diameter and t(±0.025) mm thickness vertically on an insulating bracket. The metal plate is connected to a transformer and an AC voltage of (3.6±0.5) kV is applied. The fire extinguisher is fixed on the insulating support, maintaining a 1-meter distance from the metal plate's center to the nozzle. The transformer is turned on, spraying begins, and the current between the extinguisher and ground is measured. This current must not exceed 0.5 mA.
Complies with standards: Section 6.7 "Electrical Insulation Test" of GA86-2009 "Simplified Fire Extinguishers", ISO 7165:1999 "Fire fighting – Portable fire extinguishers – Performance and construction", and ISO 11601:1999 "Wheeled fire extinguishers – Performance and construction".
