Walking through Gamlebyen makes me feel like I'm in a medieval village. The "Old Town" stands out for its wonderful alleys populated by colorful wooden houses, all preserving a common design.

Gamlebyen, situated on the eastern bank of the Glomma, is made up of 18th-century buildings and fortifications with embankments, moats, and drawbridges dating back to the 17th century.

The walks always include bordering the river and contemplating the most beautiful boats. This "Goleta" is one of many; wooden boats, old but very well maintained. They come in different colors and shapes.

The schooner was designed from the beginning to occupy the main place on a beach very different from the Scandinavian ones. A tropical beach, a warm environment that symbolizes the love and gratitude I feel for both countries, Costa Rica and Norway.
