Na ilha de Resö, na Suécia, conheci um pequeno pescador. Ele não tinha mais de seis anos e segurava uma cesta na qual recolhia os peixes que lhe eram entregues por um jovem, provavelmente seu pai.
Era uma cena linda — o mar estava cinzento, assim como o céu, e as grandes rochas planas típicas da área criavam um ambiente pacífico onde se podia perder por horas.
Este desenho é uma representação desse dia. Feito principalmente em sépia, a intenção é refletir as cores suaves da cena. A criança e o peixe se destacam do fundo, dando-lhes total protagonismo.
Linhas grossas e finas se entrelaçam, criando uma interação maravilhosa possível pelo uso de diferentes bicos de pena e tinta da Índia.
A imagem, imbuída de nostalgia, visa transmitir tanto a solidão quanto a profunda conexão entre a natureza e o homem, destacada pela paixão inerente às atividades que amamos.

María Jimena Navarro is a Chilean painter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She was a distinguished student of renowned Chilean artists such as Hernán Miranda, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, and Roser Bru. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including Guatemala, the United States, and Costa Rica, where she has lived with her family since 2015. With a distinctly Expressionist style, incorporating color to varying degrees, she has dedicated herself to capturing everyday life in a figurative manner, exploring themes that hold personal significance in both imagery and emotional weight. These themes include urban landscapes, the human figure, and the depiction of horses—portrayed as objects in constant motion, expressing their strength and imbued with vibrant color. María Jimena’s painting is an invitation to pause and feel, to remember, or to let ourselves be carried away. It is a tribute to life, reminding us that, ultimately, life is lived in color. In 2022, she ventured into professional writing for the first time, participating in the "César Vidal Christian Novel Award" by The Agustin Agency with her work "Colombina y la Sonrisa de Dios" (Colombina and the Smile of God).
