On the island of Resö in Sweden, I met a little fisherman. He was no more than six years old and was holding a basket in which he collected the fish handed to him by a young man, presumably his father.

It was a beautiful scene—the sea was gray, as was the sky, and the large, flat rocks typical of the area created a peaceful environment where one could get lost for hours.

This drawing is a representation of that day. Rendered mainly in sepia, the intention is to reflect the muted colors of the scene. The child and the fish stand out from the background, giving them complete prominence.

Thick and thin lines intermingle, creating a wonderful interplay achievable through the use of different nibs and Indian ink.

The image, imbued with nostalgia, aims to convey both loneliness and the deep connection between nature and man, highlighted by the passion inherent in the activities we love.
