Se promener dans Gamlebyen me donne l'impression d'être dans un village médiéval. La « Vieille Ville » se distingue par ses merveilleuses ruelles peuplées de maisons en bois colorées, toutes préservant un design commun.
Gamlebyen, située sur la rive orientale de la Glomma, est composée de bâtiments et de fortifications du XVIIIe siècle avec des remblais, des douves et des ponts-levis datant du XVIIe siècle.
Les promenades incluent toujours de longer la rivière et de contempler les plus beaux bateaux. Cette « Goélette » est l'un des nombreux ; des bateaux en bois, anciens mais très bien entretenus. Ils se déclinent en différentes couleurs et formes.
La goélette a été conçue dès le départ pour occuper la place principale sur une plage très différente de celles de Scandinavie. Une plage tropicale, un environnement chaleureux qui symbolise l'amour et la gratitude que je ressens pour les deux pays, le Costa Rica et la Norvège.

María Jimena Navarro is a Chilean painter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She was a distinguished student of renowned Chilean artists such as Hernán Miranda, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, and Roser Bru. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including Guatemala, the United States, and Costa Rica, where she has lived with her family since 2015. With a distinctly Expressionist style, incorporating color to varying degrees, she has dedicated herself to capturing everyday life in a figurative manner, exploring themes that hold personal significance in both imagery and emotional weight. These themes include urban landscapes, the human figure, and the depiction of horses—portrayed as objects in constant motion, expressing their strength and imbued with vibrant color. María Jimena’s painting is an invitation to pause and feel, to remember, or to let ourselves be carried away. It is a tribute to life, reminding us that, ultimately, life is lived in color. In 2022, she ventured into professional writing for the first time, participating in the "César Vidal Christian Novel Award" by The Agustin Agency with her work "Colombina y la Sonrisa de Dios" (Colombina and the Smile of God).
