Inspirée par une visite en Belgique il y a plusieurs années, « El Violinista de Brujas » est une œuvre qui capture l'essence de la création humaine à travers la musique et l'art. Cette peinture faisait partie de l'exposition Genesis II, une collection qui explorait la capacité de l'être humain à imiter la création divine, contrairement à Genesis I, où l'accent était mis sur la Création de Dieu.
Ici, dans une ville à l'architecture vibrante et aux reflets dansants sur l'eau, un violoniste solitaire joue sa mélodie dans un coin pavé. La scène évoque non seulement la beauté et la nostalgie de Brujas, mais symbolise aussi l'éternelle quête de l'homme pour donner vie à l'immatériel : la musique, l'art, l'expression.
Les coups de pinceau expressifs et les contrastes de couleurs transmettent le mouvement et la profondeur de cette composition, où le divin et l'humain s'entrelacent dans une harmonie visuelle. Un rappel que, même si Dieu est le créateur suprême, l'être humain joue à être Dieu à travers sa créativité et sa capacité à transformer la réalité avec des sons, des formes et des couleurs.

María Jimena Navarro is a Chilean painter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She was a distinguished student of renowned Chilean artists such as Hernán Miranda, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, and Roser Bru. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including Guatemala, the United States, and Costa Rica, where she has lived with her family since 2015. With a distinctly Expressionist style, incorporating color to varying degrees, she has dedicated herself to capturing everyday life in a figurative manner, exploring themes that hold personal significance in both imagery and emotional weight. These themes include urban landscapes, the human figure, and the depiction of horses—portrayed as objects in constant motion, expressing their strength and imbued with vibrant color. María Jimena’s painting is an invitation to pause and feel, to remember, or to let ourselves be carried away. It is a tribute to life, reminding us that, ultimately, life is lived in color. In 2022, she ventured into professional writing for the first time, participating in the "César Vidal Christian Novel Award" by The Agustin Agency with her work "Colombina y la Sonrisa de Dios" (Colombina and the Smile of God).
