**Exposición: "Navegantes: Inspirado en ****The Tall Ships Races en aguas escandinavas"
Título: “Catamarán al atardecer”
Técnica: Acrílico y óleo sobre lienzo
Dimensiones: 100 x 100 cms
Un catamarán, que se desvía bastante de los modelos utilizados inicialmente en la creación de esta exposición pictórica, fue mi manera de salir a la superficie después de esa inmersión necesaria pero dolorosa en aguas desconsoladas.
Así es. Después de la catarsis representada por la obra "The Esmeralda Contemplating Valparaíso in Flames," mi alma necesitaba un grito de vida, color y libertad. Así es como surgió esta obra, "Catamaran at Sunset."
Un catamarán colorido navegando por el mar Báltico mientras la luz del atardecer pinta las nubes de rojo, naranja, amarillo y dorado representa la promesa de un futuro mejor, esperanza y vida.
Para crear esta obra, me basé en varios modelos que luego fusioné en una creación única, resaltando el contraste y la fuerza de las líneas precisas.

María Jimena Navarro is a Chilean painter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She was a distinguished student of renowned Chilean artists such as Hernán Miranda, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, and Roser Bru. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including Guatemala, the United States, and Costa Rica, where she has lived with her family since 2015. With a distinctly Expressionist style, incorporating color to varying degrees, she has dedicated herself to capturing everyday life in a figurative manner, exploring themes that hold personal significance in both imagery and emotional weight. These themes include urban landscapes, the human figure, and the depiction of horses—portrayed as objects in constant motion, expressing their strength and imbued with vibrant color. María Jimena’s painting is an invitation to pause and feel, to remember, or to let ourselves be carried away. It is a tribute to life, reminding us that, ultimately, life is lived in color. In 2022, she ventured into professional writing for the first time, participating in the "César Vidal Christian Novel Award" by The Agustin Agency with her work "Colombina y la Sonrisa de Dios" (Colombina and the Smile of God).
