Περπατώντας στο Gamlebyen νιώθω σαν να βρίσκομαι σε ένα μεσαιωνικό χωριό. Η "Παλιά Πόλη" ξεχωρίζει για τα υπέροχα σοκάκια της που κατοικούνται από πολύχρωμα ξύλινα σπίτια, όλα με κοινό σχεδιασμό.
Το Gamlebyen, που βρίσκεται στην ανατολική όχθη του Glomma, αποτελείται από κτίρια και οχυρώσεις του 18ου αιώνα με αναχώματα, τάφρους και κινητές γέφυρες που χρονολογούνται από τον 17ο αιώνα.
Οι βόλτες περιλαμβάνουν πάντα το να ακολουθεί κανείς τον ποταμό και να θαυμάζει τα πιο όμορφα σκάφη. Αυτή η "Goleta" είναι ένα από τα πολλά· ξύλινα σκάφη, παλιά αλλά πολύ καλά συντηρημένα. Έρχονται σε διάφορα χρώματα και σχήματα.
Η γολέτα σχεδιάστηκε από την αρχή για να καταλάβει την κύρια θέση σε μια παραλία πολύ διαφορετική από τις σκανδιναβικές. Μια τροπική παραλία, ένα ζεστό περιβάλλον που συμβολίζει την αγάπη και την ευγνωμοσύνη που νιώθω και για τις δύο χώρες, την Κόστα Ρίκα και τη Νορβηγία.

María Jimena Navarro is a Chilean painter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She was a distinguished student of renowned Chilean artists such as Hernán Miranda, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, and Roser Bru. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including Guatemala, the United States, and Costa Rica, where she has lived with her family since 2015. With a distinctly Expressionist style, incorporating color to varying degrees, she has dedicated herself to capturing everyday life in a figurative manner, exploring themes that hold personal significance in both imagery and emotional weight. These themes include urban landscapes, the human figure, and the depiction of horses—portrayed as objects in constant motion, expressing their strength and imbued with vibrant color. María Jimena’s painting is an invitation to pause and feel, to remember, or to let ourselves be carried away. It is a tribute to life, reminding us that, ultimately, life is lived in color. In 2022, she ventured into professional writing for the first time, participating in the "César Vidal Christian Novel Award" by The Agustin Agency with her work "Colombina y la Sonrisa de Dios" (Colombina and the Smile of God).
